An XMAS scan ( -sX ) is a TCP port scanning method using FIN/PSH/URG flags to evade stateless firewalls. It works best against Linux/Unix hosts. Closed ports reply with RST; open ports give no reply. Windows hosts are immune to its detection logic. Defend by dropping packets with --tcp-flags FIN,PSH,URG FIN,PSH,URG at the perimeter. xmasti work
