This paper explores the dynamic role of Indonesian male youth peer groups, colloquially known as Abg (short for Abang or Remaja ), in the context of modern social issues and cultural preservation. Often stigmatized as sources of delinquency or street subcultures (such as the Geng Motor phenomenon), these groups are frequently misunderstood by mainstream society. By examining the "koleksi" (collection) of behaviors, values, and social interactions within these groups, this study argues that Abg communities serve as critical spaces for identity formation and social resilience. The paper analyzes how these youths negotiate traditional cultural values with modern challenges, such as economic inequality, urbanization, and digital influence, ultimately redefining what it means to be a young Indonesian man today.
