Launched in 2007 by Justin Kan and Emmett Shear (who later founded Twitch), Justin.tv started as a single live stream of Justin Kan’s life—a "lifecasting" experiment. It quickly evolved into a massive platform where anyone could broadcast anything: from a bedroom musician playing guitar to a pirated broadcast of a Champions League match.
