The movie follows the story of Surjan Singh Shekhawat (played by Aamir Khan), a police officer who is suffering from depression and guilt after the death of his wife, Roshni (played by Kareena Kapoor). Surjan is transferred to the Mumbai Police Traffic Department, where he teams up with his friend and colleague, Harsh (played by Sushant Singh Rajput).
