In the final scene, Catherine visits Glass in the mental hospital. She reveals that her book is now a bestseller and suggests that he was the real killer all along, having been manipulated by her into committing the crimes for her amusement. The film ends with Catherine walking away victoriously while Glass remains trapped in his own psychological prison.

If one were to watch any version of Basic Instinct 2 , the critical consensus is harsh: Roger Ebert gave it zero stars, calling it "a tired rehash." The plot is convoluted (Catherine plays mind games with a therapist), the chemistry is weak, and the infamous "white dress" scene is forced. Without the original’s director (Verhoeven) and co-star (Michael Douglas), the sequel fails. A Tamil dub, even if well-made, would not salvage a fundamentally poor script.
