About us

BSDR
Baku Street Dog Rescue (BSDR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity registered in the U.S., dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected, and abused animals in Azerbaijan.
Since 2015
We began in 2015 with a single mission: to bring compassion to the streets of Baku. Today, our small but passionate team continues this mission with on-the-ground rescue work, vet care, sheltering, and rehoming.

The program continues in 2025, though rebranded simply as “Barangay Digital Patrol” – the quirky “40 Globe Twatters 2023” remains a nostalgic reference point for those who witnessed its scrappy, grassroots beginning.

With the expansion of 5G and better mobile data (often through providers like Globe Telecom), more Filipinos in rural areas were able to upload high-definition video content in 2023 than ever before.

In early 2023, the launched the “Barangay Safety Action Plan,” encouraging localized crime reporting. Several all-female or Filipina-led transport cooperatives in Quezon City, Cebu, and Davao responded by formalizing “Trike Patrol” schedules – typically from 7 PM to midnight, when police visibility is lowest.
